The Kanowna Belle Gold Mine is a gold mine 19 kilometres (12 mi) north-east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, near the ghost town of Kanowna. It is operated by Northern Star Resources. Kanowna Belle has one viewing platform and an interpretive centre.
Kanowna is a ghost town in the Goldfields region of Western Australia, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of Kalgoorlie.It is sited on Maduwongga tribal lands.At the 2016 census, Kanowna had a population of 10 people. After the discovery of gold in the area in 1893, the townsite was gazetted in 1894. and the population grew from 2,500 in 1897 to over 12,500 by 1899.
Kanowna Belle gold mine is located some 20km north east of Kalgoorlie. Delta Gold NL and Geopeko Gold discovered the orebody in 1989. Construction began in 1992, the open pit was commissioned in mid-1993 and operations are now underground.

The ore is then hauled to the surface for treatment in the Kanowna Belle Gold plant. Due to the inherent problems associated with an underground project of this magnitude, CPC entered into a partnering arrangement with Kanowna Belle which ultimately resulted in the project being brought in on time and on budget with zero injuries.
Northern Star Resources has talked up the potential of its Kanowna Belle gold operation near Kalgoorlie, saying production from the mine is on track to rise by 50 per cent to 125,000 ounces by 2017.
